Michael McDonagh

My name is Michael McDonagh and I am a guitarist and sing/songwriter for Wexford rock band Stone Blind State.

I play electric, acoustic and bass guitar and love all styles of playing. I love to write and record music and have done so professionally and for my own enjoyment. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History and have worked in Primary Schools as a substitute teacher.

More importantly, I picked up the guitar at 12 and from that moment, music was my obsession. Bands such as Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam became the soundtrack to my teenage years. Learning guitar gave me a purpose and drive, focus and determination. 

For me to teach guitar is to give someone an opportunity to learn the instrument and be part of a community that has given me such meaning and purpose.

So whether you want to shred guitar solos like Slash, strum the acoustic to your favourite artist like Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran or be the next Jimi Hendrix, I'm here to help you!
